As an Eaglet by Lou Womack

A Prayer for Change O Lord, my God Arising from a once comfortable nest

As the down has been removed With one sweep of Your hand I must arise and put to use All the skills You have given me

To soar to the higher places I do not want to nest in this uncomfortable crag That overlooks the world below And the heights of heaven above forever Lord My heart is panting after You Bring me out of this place And set me free from my own confinement Strengthen my heart to have that courage To plunge into space That I will be supported alone By my faith in You Send the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit To lift me into Heaven So that I may see my Creator Your countenance Lord I desire to see an inkling of Your face As that hope propels me  To draw closer and closer to You If I should start to plunge toward the earth I will call Your name And am confident that Your right hand will reach down and sustain me Until I am steadied once again In my flight toward Glory And then Dear Lord The lifter of my soul Let that Holy Fire from heaven fall upon me and brand me With an everlasting seal to You…forever “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
